Things I am not looking forward to

1. Driving in the snow.

2. Standing in line to renew the car registration.

3. My next mammogram.

4. Death.

(And hey! it's the Sexy Grim Reaper...)

But worst of all:

5. Telling Rachel that the H1N1 vaccination for kids consists of two shots instead of one.

Kids have good instincts about stuff like this. Getting poked in the arm with something sharp can't possibly be good. Having parts of your body squeezed flat as a crepe also can't be good. Things that hurt aren't good. That's why we have pain receptors - to tell us when something not good is happening to our bodies.

  2. Yeah, I'm sure that's going to go over well.

  3. Oh god, is it wrong that I hope they give it school...

Maybe I'll let The Man do it....

  4. That was good. It got a chuckle out of me. It was almost a guffaw....

Hopefully she really doesn't have to have it. Seriously. That's pain, man.

  5. XUP - Yeah, when you're a kid, you just don't get the 'small pain now to stop bigger pain/illness later' thing.

Jen - Oh, you know it. NOT.

Nat - How old is the boy? Children 6 months to 9 years need 2 half doses given 3 weeks apart, children 10 and up and adults need one dose at one time. Good luck.

Wacky - I've thought it through, and we are all getting the vaccine as soon as we can. Bribery will help with the acceptance of two jabs instead of one. Now, where am I going to put that pony?

  7. Poor kid, I can sympathize, although my kids are adults now, my twin grand daughters are going to have to go through that. Not fun at all.
As for the rest, snow has already fallen here, luckily we get our registration by mail, don't have mammograms but do have to bend over for the prostate and as for death, make it quick and clean. ;o)

  8. Fortunately since Bridget got her ears pierced, she thinks she's hot stuff and can handle pain (rolling eyes). I hope we get a good vaccinator!

  9. Ugh. You and me both. Angus is just moving out of the 'if you really loved me you would never force me to endure this catastrophic cataclysmic apocalyptic pain' and Eve is moving in it, times a thousand. Last year she seemed to think that saying 'no, I really really don't want to do it' was the end of the story.

Nice use of juxtaposition and word-picture combinations, also.

I heard yesterday that they now believe that one half dose is going to be completely adequate - cheer up Rachele - it looks like one needle will do!

  12. I really don't look forward to snow.
The kids were supposed to get thier shots today but instead T, my six year old son, decided to get the swine flu instead. I'm pretty sure he's got it, but so far just mild symptoms.
