Well, I'm glad we've got that settled

Overheard last night, coming from the bathroom where the girls were brushing teeth and getting ready for bed.

Leah: "No, no, no, no, no. You're weird and I'm odd."

Rachel: "Oh. Sorry. I keep getting that mixed up."

Rachel, while watching me cover the smoke alarm with plastic wrap to stop it going off after I accidentally melted some plastic on a stove element (I'd reset it, and then it would go off, over and over again, which was very annoying while I was trying to cook dinner):

"Sometimes you're a nut and sometimes you're a genius, and I don't know which one you are right now."

  1. Funny girls.

When you figure out the difference between odd and weird, please let me know.

  2. Jen - I'll have to ask them what the difference is. Leah was very insistent that she was odd, rather than weird. Perhaps 'odd' has more cachet.

  3. Was any decision made as to whether you're a genius or a nut?

  4. Jazz - I believe we settled on 'genius' after a short discussion.

  5. I think it's genius -- my only solution in a similar situation was to whack the crap out of the smoke detector with a wooden spoon until it fell off the ceiling. It's a wonder we didn't die in our beds.

  6. Plastic wrap, you say??? My smoke alarm goes off every freakin' time I cook. And no, it's not because I burn everything, it's just hyper sensitive and extremely annoying

Correctly your article helped me very much in my college assignment. Hats incorrect to you send, will look forward in the direction of more related articles promptly as its sole of my pet question to read.

  8. Well, I certainly couldn't put it any better than Mr Anonymous up there!

  9. Biblio - I considered the wooden spoon route, and then figured if the smoke couldn't get to the sensor -- problem solved. The trick was remembering to take the plastic wrap off again before bed.

Cedar - You don't know the half of it.

XP - it worked like a charm.

Anonymous -- Um, thanks, I think.

Dani - Hi! Yeah, that anonymous, he's a card.
